Ephesians 3:17 & 18 – I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.
Wide – Gods love is boundless ps103-8 The Lord is compassionate & gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
Long – Gods love is endless ps 136 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. continuous
High – Gods love is measureless ps 36-5 Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens. highest mountain
Gods love is so Great, it comprehends all that is above, below, past, present, future. It encompasses the universe – time – eternity
2) The Expression Of Gods love.
We have all tried to express our love to our spouse.
Hopefully you know their love language (Quality time, Words affirmation, Gifts, Touch, Acts service) so they can receive your expression of love
What is Gods expression of love?
God the father gave his son - John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son . .
God the Son gave his life - Romans 5:6-8
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this; While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
God the Holy Spirit gives life - Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
3) The Result of Gods love.
The New Covenant
Hebrews 8:8-12 This is the new covenant declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.
